Specialising in captive bred Arachnids from around the world since 1986

News updates - March 13th, 2018:

It has been only a month, but it has been a very busy one and much has changed! A LOT of new spiders and a few other changes as well! We've updated the show information, added in Vancouver and corrected the Contact page. Vancouver, Abbotsford (Tables 1-5) and Victoria (Tables 1-4) have been booked and confirmed and anyone looking to help out at these expos is invited to contact us and let us know!

A lot of new additions to the Tarantulas and Other Spiders list!! Brazilian Blacks Grammostola pulchra and Goliath Bird Eaters (Theraphosa blondi) have hatched and are ready to go! These are the real deal blondi, the original Goliaths and these monster spiderlings are already pushing over 2½" just one moult out of the eggsac! The Brazilian Blacks were just in time too, as we have been sexing out the last of the larger juveniles from the last batch we imported and going through the waiting list. We have also released some larger specimens that we have been raising for a bit and are now sexed. There are lots of exciting females (and a few males) joining the list, so be sure to keep your eyes out for the new additions! Please note that we will switching the name on the hobby classic "Brachypelma smithi, to its new correct name Brachypelma hamorii. We have kept the old name for some time as a number of customers have found this name change particularly confusing, but it has been over a year now :) Also, we are nearly out of the larger sexed males and females and are working hard to sex out some of the larger juveniles in order to replace them on the list!

The Scorpion List keeps getting shorter, though we did manage to acquire a big female Flat Rock Scorpion (Hadogenes troglodytes). Haven't seen these around much lately! We are down to our last Indian Giant Forest Scorpion (Heterometrus swammerdammi)! These are the largest species in the world are are truly very impressive animals!! There are always folks demanding common names for all of these species, but many of these are quite rare and really don't have common names. We've had to invent a few, so keep this in mind if you are looking for info online, and search instead for the Latin names :)

We've added springtails to the Other Invertebrates list, but not much activity there as of yet! We can also get European Nightcrawlers and a few other invertertebrate species not often kept as pets. Anyone looking for these, please let us know!

A few new animals on the Reptile and Amphibians list this month. Among the recent additions are Halamahera Geckos (Gehydra marginata), Chinese Cave Geckos (Goniurosaurus hainanensis), more Gargoyle Geckoes (Rhacodactylus auriculatus), a female Nuu Ana Leachie (Rhacodactylus leachianus), Tangerine Honduran Milksnakes (Lampropeltis triangulum hondurensis), Taiwan Beauty Snakes (Orthriophis taeniura frisei) and Reeves' Turtles (Mauremys reevesi). Mourning Geckos are now hatching (Lepidodactylus lugubris) and we've also got a batch of "Normal" Ball Pythons (Python regius) for sale. These came from a customer that works with a number of morphs and may include hets or morphs that look very similar to normals. We are nearly out of African Giant Bullfrogs (Pyxicephalus adspersus), but should be getting more in soon, along with Pacman Frogs! If you are looking for reptiles not listed, please contact us and we will see what we can do for you.

The Miscellaneous Goods page has finally had a small makeover! A few things have been removed as we have scaled down the dry goods, but we may be offering shirts again in the near future!

We are always on the lookout for more Chelonian species! If you are a turtle or tortoise breeder, please contact us!

Want to get sneak peeks, special offers and who knows what else? Join our mailing list by emailing us with "mealworm" as the subject! I do apologise for the latency of this mailing list, but it is one of the last tasks to get done and the care of the animals (and our customers!) always comes first!! The bright side? The longer it takes to get the mailer out, the more likely a surprise special will be in it ;)

Upcoming Expos:
With the large number of Southern Ontario shows being so close together, we are not able to attend them all. Until this changes, we will likely only be attending the Spring (Easter), Summer and Fall (CRBE) shows. Currently, there are no expos booked yet for next year, aside from Red Deer!
